Our Aluminium Bifold Doors
Installing aluminium bifold doors is a big project and nothing less than the best will do. That’s why we source our bifolding doors from Sternfenster, the market leaders in all things aluminium. We’ve worked with homeowners from Yeadon, Leeds, Harrogate, Weatherby and the surrounding areas and our bifold doors always get a glowing response.
Aluminium is one of the strongest metals available and as such, can support wider glazing areas than uPVC bifold doors. This means they feature more glass and let in an abundance of natural light, which is perfect for turning your home into an airy, welcoming space. Additionally, the sleek metal frames have a smooth, modern finish and will give your home a refined, contemporary decor.
They do all this while providing incredible levels of insulation and home security. If you’re looking to give your home a dramatic makeover, aluminium bifold doors are just the thing. Get in touch with Max Glass and ask our friendly staff any questions you may have.

Why Choose Aluminium Bifold Doors?
If you’re looking to create a near-seamless link between your home and garden but aren’t convinced by sliding glass doors, bifold doors are an excellent alternative. These remarkable glazed doors open by sliding along rails and stacking up on top of one another, thereby providing a space-saving and impressive entranceway.
But why aluminium? Why not uPVC? Simply put, aluminium is a remarkably versatile and incredibly strong material that is perfect for bifold doors. These doors have lengthy lifespans and can last for decades, reliably withstanding serious weather conditions and attempted break-ins alike. They’ll bathe your home in light, while providing complete security and prove to be a serious, long-term investment.
Additionally, aluminium bifold doors won’t trouble your conscience. They’re made with ethically sourced metal and are designed to be easily recycled. You can expect your doors to last for decades, but when they eventually reach the end of their lifespans, they can be recycled and won’t wind up in a landfill. They’re the perfect choice for the ecologically minded homeowner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Aluminium Bifold Doors Heavy? Can They Be Opened Easily?
This is a common question and we’re happy to say that our bifold doors are very easy to open. They run on specially fitted tracks and fold up concertina-style, requiring only a small push to start moving. These doors are designed to be usable by all and you don’t have to be a professional bodybuilder to get them open.
Can I Use Bifold Doors As A Front Door?
Theoretically, yes you can. However, we’re firmly of the opinion that they work better leading onto back gardens or patios. Bifold doors are magnificent, but if you install them in the front of your home, it’s easy to feel exposed to nosy neighbours due to the sheer amount of glass. We can do this if you wish but would argue that there are better alternatives for the front entranceway to a house.
Will I Need To Hire A Structural Engineer For New Bifold Doors?
Only if you intend on expanding the opening. For example, let’s imagine you want to remove a set of sliding doors and replace them with bifolding ones; so long as the size of the entranceway remains the same size, the existing lintel will still be supportive. However, if you want to make the entrance bigger, it will require additional input from an engineer.
Are Dual Colours An Option?
Yes! If you want to have a different shade on either side of your bifold doors, that’s perfectly fine. We can install dual colour bifold doors and match different aesthetics on either side.
Can I Have Corner Bifold Doors?
Potentially. We have worked on corner bifold doors projects before, but they can be more complex than a standard fitting. The property will have to be assessed by a structural engineer first to make sure that removing the corner pillar won’t compromise the structural integrity.
